Meet http://blog.cindyhsu.net

Salam

she is sweet and her photography style is also sweet :)

Meet Cindy Hsu,
the owner of
Cindy Hsu | Art, Animation, Film, and Photography Blog

1. Can you tell me about yourself ?

Hi! My name is Cindy and I'm a senior studying fine arts at USC. I graduate in May and I can't believe almost four years has flown by! In this time, I discovered a love for animation, photography, film, and sculpture. I recently started a print shop selling prints of my photography and I've loved every step of it so far!

2. What inspire you to take photos ?

I take photos because of my love for optimism in photography and my attempt to share it with others. I love capturing beauty all around me. Another reason is that I have a pretty bad memory, and taking pictures of what happens in my life makes it so that I will never forget it!

3. How do you like to spend a day ?

Any day I spend with my boyfriend Matt is lovely. Whether we're doing homework on our laptops side by side, shopping, eating, exploring the city, or watching a movie, I always have a blast!

4. What is your definition of happiness ?

Happiness is having good health, good friends, good family, and plenty of adventure and passion for life!

5. Can you please show us your most memorable photos and why ?

One of my most memorable photos is in my print shop titled "Into the Sky." I had been looking for pink and yellow bunting flags to take pictures of for months, and just couldn't find them anywhere! One day I just decided to make some from colored index cards and my mom and grandmother are each holding an end of the string. Whenever I look at this picture I'm just reminded never to give up, as well as the importance of a little creativity and the support and love of your parents!

The second picture is called "City of Lights" and I took it in 2004. It was taken on a small point and shoot camera at the time, but is one of my oldest and favorite pictures I've taken!

My other most memorable photo is what I call our "family portrait." It's a picture of me, Matt, and my dog Benji (who lives with my parents) that my mom took. It's a very special picture to me because Matt feels like such a part of the family!

Thank you so much for interviewing me Farha! You're so sweet and I can't wait to see more from your blog!

Cindy Hsu

Salam :)

I am falling in love with her blog because of the tutorials and inspiring photo challenges categories
and many more !

Ashley is very sweet to share us some very good tips on photography
______________________________________________________________

1. Can you tell me about yourself ?

My name is Ashley Sisk. I married my best friend on October 17, 2009. Shortly after our wedding, I decided that I needed a hobby. I've always enjoyed taking pictures and found myself pretty good at editing pictures from my point and shoot, so I bought my first DSLR in November 2009. Last year, I started Ramblings and Photos. As a result of blogging, I re-discovered my creative spirit, enhanced my photography and editing skills and made some incredible friends. As of November 2010, I upgraded to the Canon 7D and will soon be opening my own Etsy Print Shop.

2. What made you fall in love with photography ?

Gosh – I don’t know. I do know that I’ve always loved the arts. My mom has quite a creative spirit herself so I spent most of my childhood doing arts and crafts. In high school, I was encouraged to further explore some creative outlets, so I took a photography course as part of my studies. I also took journalism and a basic art course. In college, I wasn’t able to take many art courses without being an art major, but I was able to take a basic graphic design course. Between those four things (photography, journalism, art and graphic design), I feel that it’s made me a better photographer. I just love that I can see beauty in everyday objects – photography allows me to capture a moment forever.

3. Can you please list down 5 tools that are essential for a photographer?

Great question – there are really TWO major essentials and a few nice to haves.
  • Obviously, a camera and I don’t think you have to have a DSLR…but if you’re serious about photography, you should eventually upgrade to one.
  • Editing software – I personally own Photoshop Elements 7 (can be purchased for under $100) and Adobe CS5 Creative Suite (full photoshop). There are some great free tools like GIMP, Picnik and Picassa…I’ve also heard really great things about Lightroom. Whatever the case, you’ve gotta have something!
Nice to Haves
  •  A prime lens such as the Canon 50mm f/1.8 or Nikon 35mm f/1.8 – these are great lens because you have a much wider aperture than most kit lenses. In fact, don’t buy the kit lens…you won’t use it once you really know how to use your camera.
  • Tripod – it’s a nice to have because it’s not necessary but it definitely helps if you like macro photography, long-exposures or self portraits. I have a fairly inexpensive one that I bought with a kit (another thing I want to upgrade), but it does the trick.
  • Remote Trigger – I have recently started enjoying self portraits so if you’re like me and want to get in front of the camera from time to time, a remote trigger makes your life so much easier…unless you just enjoy running to your position within 10 seconds.
  • External Flash – this is seriously a luxury item. You should learn how to shoot with natural lighting but during the winter months, I find that having an external flash (I use the Canon Speedlite 430 EXII) really helps. Whatever you do, don’t use your pop up flash!
4.     What are the basic requirements should a newbie has to be a photographer?

A willingness to learn and a lot of patience. If you want to learn anything, you have to spend a lot of time reading and practicing. Carry your camera with you EVERYWHERE – I seriously mean this. Mine is with me 90% of the time. Learn how to shoot in natural light and practice practice practice.

5. Can you please show us your most memorable photos and why?

Meet http://blog.saifulnang.net/

Salam :)

1. Can you tell me about yourself ?

I'm a visual artist and I've chosen camera as my tool of arts

2. What make you fall in love with photography ?

I love film and I studied film back in 1996. But that was the time where film technology was
so expensive. Photography was the alternative and it's actually the root of motion pictures (film)
and I decided to give a go to it. And...that's why I'm here

3. Can you please list down 5 tools that are essential for a photographer ?

- Eyes
- Idea
- Heart
- Passion
- Camera

4. What are the basic requirements should a newbie has to be a photographer ?

When I was a newbie, I didn't even have my own camera. The only things I have is
the idea. Borrowed a friend's camera, shoot to prove to the people our idea is different.
Then exhibit your works online. People who might love your picture will keep on supporting
you to make you able to buy your own camera and develop your career.

5. Can you please show us your most memorable photos and why ?

I can't be bias on that. I'm a wedding shooter and all my clients are special on their own
unique way. Each one of them having their own perception of memorable picture ;)

Thanks for the feature ;)

1. Can you tell me about yourself ?
I am just a SAHM with too many hobbies and not enough time in the day. lol
I love photography, scrapping and sewing. I spend most of my time doing laundry and chasing my 3 year old around. lol
One day I would like to take photos of people for money but right now I am just enjoying it as a hobby.

2. What made you fall in love with photography ?
I love that I can put my memories and my creativity
to paper with my photos. I never want to forget the things and the people who have fascinated me
over the years. Especially my children. :)

3. Can you please list down 5 tools that are essential for a photographer ?
1. a camera. I don't care what kind, brand or how expensive it is. Anyone can take beautiful photos if they try.
2. good editing software! I love my CS3.
3. creative eye. I cannot shoot without my creativity. There are days when creativity fails me and I have
to work really hard to take a good picture.
4. a tripod: I don't know how many times mine has come in handy. I have a full size one and a mini one.
5. a good prime lens if you are shooting with an SLR. I have a 35 MM 1.8 that I cannot live without.

4. What are the basic requirements should a newbie has to be a photographer?
Practice, practice practice! I have not actually started a business yet because I feel I still need
tons of practice. There is always more to learn and until I am comfortable shooting in every
situation. I don't want to say I can and charge for it when I really am not ready. I don't have any classroom
knowledge. I have taught myself everything I know. It is not hard as long as you really want to be good at
it.

5. Can you please show us your most memorable photos and why?
{kaitlyns toes}
My sweet little baby girl's toes. I want to remember how small she is.

{moon}
I love the moon. I have a fascination with capturing it. lol This is my best shot to date.

Kiara
My adorable Kiara at 3. She is so full of life and love.
Her smile lights up the room and you are never sad with her around.

{my little elf}
This one is a fave just because she is sooooo cute as an elf. :)

{Rocking my Baby}
I love Kiara's sense of adventure. She can always imagine the most fun things from the simplest of toys.

{kale blue eyes}
Kale...He is a bundle of energy. Always moving. I love this photo because he is actually standing still
and I was able to capture his more serious side. And of course his lovely eyes.

Thank you soooo much for asking me to share a little of me. I am very honored!
